Popular VFAST and GFAST products now available under Broadband Stimulus Program Financing
FERNDALE WA – February 4th, 2010 – Nebula is today announcing that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has accepted Nebula’s VFAST and GFAST products for inclusion in its List of Acceptable Materials.
In support of its mandate to provide broadband to unserved and underserved communities across America, the RUS provides grants, loans and loan-grant combinations to facilitate implementation and improvement of broadband infrastructure in rural locations. The RUS also administers a rigorous technical acceptance process to qualify products as eligible to receive this financing.
Nebula has today received notification from the RUS Advanced Services Division that its Technical Standards Committee “A” has accepted both Nebula’s 100 Mbps VFAST and 1 Gbps GFAST families of media conversion products. This acceptance is immediate and the products will be included in the next published revision of the “List of Materials Acceptable for Use on Telecommunications Systems of RUS Borrowers” Informational Publication 344-2.
“Nebula’s equipment has been in service in thousands of locations across North America for over a decade.” said Lee Vishloff, Nebula’s President. “Achieving RUS listing is an important milestone, enabling us to cost effectively offer our versatile and innovative fiber access solutions to forward looking rural broadband service providers across America”.
“We believe that GFAST’s flexible provisioning and bandwidth allocation capabilities will be of particular interest to rural service providers trying to meet the emerging and evolving needs of their residential, business and institutional customers.”
