Service Providers Increase Density by 8 times
VANCOUVER, B.C.—January 22 , 2007—Nebula Manufacturing Inc., supplier of advanced optical access equipment for Ethernet services, today introduced the VFAST™ 8X 100 Mbps Ethernet over Fiber access product. With VFAST8x 100Mbps, service providers can significantly increase service delivery density in the CO, reducing Ethernet service delivery costs and improving profitability.
“Customers are demanding more and more bandwidth to meet their users need for information and communications. While 10 Mbps once seemed more than enough, our service provider customers now need a cost effective way to upgrade equipment to 100 Mbps speeds.” Said Peter Schmelcher, Nebula Manufacturing. “We designed this solution in consultation with a major telco to give them an easy, non-disruptive and affordable way to upgrade their Ethernet services infrastructure. It lets them incrementally increase service capacity – lining up equipment investment with service subscription revenues.”
Nebula’s VFAST 100 Mbps Ethernet Service solution gives service providers a scalable, cost effective system to deploy Fast Ethernet services over available fiber links. The VFAST8x 100 Mbps Ethernet system is a series of Ethernet to Fiber converters, multiplexers and enclosures that let service providers deploy equipment just as needed, minimizing upfront investment and shortening the time to profit.
VFAST 100 Mbps Ethernet products use Nebula’s proven EtherOptic platform and support eight 100 Mbps Ethernet channels over a single fiber pair.
